What are the etching process steps for magnesium alloy etching plates?

Those who are familiar with printing and bronzing are familiar with the process flow of copper plate and zinc plate. They don’t know much about magnesium alloy etched plates, because magnesium alloy etched plates have not been introduced for a long time and the popularity rate is not high. Let us understand the etching process of magnesium alloy etching plate:

(1) Rotation speed

When making embossed plates, the speed of the etching machine blade is 420-430rpm;
When making gravure, the speed of the etching machine blade is 370-380rpm;
The above-mentioned rotation speed has a great influence on the slope of the edge of the etching pattern. The speed is too low, the slope is too slow, the speed is too high, and the slope is too steep;

(2) Etching liquid temperature

When making embossed plates, the temperature of the etching solution is 33-34°C when making the upper plate; at the time of publishing, the temperature of the etching solution is 38-39°C;
When making intaglio, the temperature of the etching solution is 35-36℃ when making the upper plate; when publishing, the temperature of the etching solution is 38-39℃;
The above-mentioned etching temperature has a great influence on the etching speed and the etching quality. If the temperature is too high, the etching reaction is too strong, and the etching plate will be too thin or even partially perforated; if the temperature is too low, the reaction will be slow, and the etching depth will be insufficient;

(3) Etching time

When using a newly prepared etching solution, when the etching time is 5 minutes, the etching depth of the magnesium alloy plate is 0.7-0.8mm; if it is corroded to other depths, the etching time should be prolonged proportionally; use a non-newly prepared etching When liquid etching magnesium alloy, the etching time of the next magnesium alloy plate should be gradually extended according to the etching depth of the previous magnesium alloy plate. If the etching depth is reduced by 0.1mm, the etching time will be extended by 30-40s;

(4) Acid supplements

After each magnesium alloy plate is etched, it needs to be supplemented with acid. The method of replenishing acid includes: supplementing 65-75ml of nitric acid for every 10g of magnesium alloy etched. Preferably, the preparation step of the etching solution includes: preparing an aqueous solution of nitric acid with a Baume degree of 13.5-14.5, and then adding an etching additive. The volume of the etching additive is 4%-5% of the total volume of the etching solution.

The above is the etching process steps of the magnesium alloy etching plate. Do you know this process now? If you need magnesium alloy etching plate, you can contact us directly.
